Project SPEAK

Our Services

At Project SPEAK, we are committed to providing a wide range of services that connect individuals with the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Our current programs focus on mentorship, education, and social engagement, while our future services will expand our impact even further, offering new ways to support communities locally and globally.

Our Services

At Project SPEAK, we are continually evolving to meet the needs of the individuals we serve. Whether you are a student, teacher, senior, or community member, we are here to help you thrive. Stay tuned as we expand our services to create even more opportunities for connection, growth, and support.

Home Grown Program

Our Home Grown program supports new teachers by offering two years of mentorship, coaching, and development and certification support. We provide resources, including grants, to help them succeed in their first years in the classroom, ensuring they can positively impact their students and schools. To further support educators and improve classroom experiences, we are developing a Teacher Assistant program. This initiative will provide additional help to teachers, particularly in underfunded schools, by offering skilled assistants who can support with non-instructional tasks thereby allowing teachers to focus 100% of their time on instruction, data collection and analysis, relationship building, becoming culturally competant and enhancing literacy skills in the students they serve.

Transitions Program

Designed for high school juniors, seniors, and young adults, the Transitions program offers life mapping and mentorship. Participants are guided in creating post-high school life plans, identifying their strengths, and exploring both traditional and non-traditional career paths. This program helps young adults navigate their futures with confidence.

Social and Cultural Events

We host a variety of social and cultural activities that provide connection and engagement for isolated individuals. Our events range from virtual meetups to in-person cultural celebrations, creating opportunities for people to build relationships and feel part of a community.

Future Services

At Project SPEAK, we are continually evolving to meet the needs of the individuals we serve. Whether you are a student, teacher, senior, or community member, we are here to help you thrive. Stay tuned as we expand our services to create even more opportunities for connection, growth, and support.

International Trips

In the near future, Project SPEAK will offer international trips that expose participants to different cultures and perspectives, encouraging personal growth and global citizenship. These trips will be designed to foster cross-cultural understanding and provide opportunities for service and learning abroad.

Homework Houses

To support students in their academic journeys, we plan to establish Homework Houses—homes within school communities where students can receive support with literacy and math development, homework assistance, access educational resources, receive hot meals, and engage in free play in a supportive environment. These spaces will also provide mentoring and study support, helping students achieve academic success.

Transitional Scholarships

We will offer transitional scholarships to high school seniors and young adults who are preparing for the next phase of their lives. These scholarships will assist with tuition, vocational training, or other expenses that arise during the transition to higher education, the workforce, or other non-traditional paths.

Senior Companions

Loneliness and isolation are major issues for seniors, especially those living in long-term care facilities or alone. Our Senior Companions program will pair volunteers with isolated seniors, providing regular check-ins, social interaction, and meaningful companionship. Through phone calls, Zoom meetings, and in-person visits, we aim to combat loneliness and enrich the lives of seniors in our communities.

Across the U.S., high teacher turnover rates, which reach up to 30% annually, directly undermine student achievement by disrupting learning environments and reducing access to experienced educators. There are 500,000+ fewer educators in the American public school systems post-pandemic. Meanwhile, over 40% of high school students lack effective post-high school planning support, contributing to uncertainty in their futures. Additionally, 28% of seasoned citizens (seniors) report feeling socially isolated, highlighting the deep impact of loneliness. These issues emphasize the urgent need for strong community connections, access to resources, and meaningful support systems to improve educational outcomes and overall well-being. Project SPEAK addresses these challenges and more by fostering mentorship, social connection, and access to critical resources and information. Join us in our quest to take on these challenges head on!
